Food Volunteers are needed at events each year in both to Mountain Home (NCA) and Springdale, Rogers or Centerton (NWA). The days and times will vary. The events are: baby showers, tours, community awareness trainings, and annual Christmas concerts. Food volunteers are needed to perform a variety of tasks depending on the needs for the event. Volunteers can purchase, prepare and/or serve food. Please note that food purchase costs are not always provided by ITL. You may also be asked to pick up and deliver donated food to the event.
Decoration Volunteers are needed at events each year in both Mountain Home (NCA) and Springdale, Rogers or Centerton (NWA). The days and times will vary. The events are baby showers, tours, community awareness training events, and our annual Christmas concerts. Decoration volunteers can be asked to purchase, deliver, and set up decorations. Purchase costs are always provided by ITL.
Set Up/Tear Down Volunteers are needed at our Christmas Concerts held each December in Mountain Home and Centerton, AR. Volunteers help to set up chairs, tables, Christmas trees, and other items before the event and then return/replace items when the event is over. Additionally, you may be asked to pick up and deliver items to the venue as well. The days and times are generally Friday or Saturday between 1:00pm and 10:00pm, but could have specific time deadlines. Setup/Tear down Volunteers are generally men, however anyone can help with this and groups are encouraged to help.
Promotional Event Volunteers would be provided flyers/invitations for in ITL event and would canvas the community to reach out and deliver materials to local businesses, churches, and other organizations. These volunteers are needed in the few weeks before our Christmas concert and other possible events throughout year. The approximate number of hours needed would be 3 per event, however this depends on how much and how far each volunteer is willing to go. In some cases, small funds will be provided for fuel.
-
Fundraising Volunteers can use premade templates on social media (Facebook) or via our donation campaign website (Kindful) to crowdfund for ITL.
These volunteers can also fundraise in other ways that are offline. For example, providing ITL a portion of proceeds from a particular day at their retail business or having a yard sale. The possibilities are endless and creativity is encouraged. ITL will provide needed signage, and promotion and will assist in any way possible.
-
Gift Volunteers help with holiday or birthday gifts, or gift-oriented event such as baby showers, by purchasing gifts via a guided list. An example would be putting together an Easter Basket for a survivor. Gift lists, cost guidelines, and deadlines are all provided by ITL. Gift Volunteers can recruit others from a church group or club, or participate individually. They can opt to provide gifts wrapped or unwrapped. Gift Volunteers will communicate with ITL staff about all gift prep details, forward this information to their group (unless a volunteer is working individually) and then provide contact information to Into The Light about their group members, and how many gift items are being provided. Last of all, these gift items are delivered to the ITL office.
-
Meal Train Volunteers participate as part of a larger group of volunteers who will be meeting a basic need of a victim/survivor and their family. After a victim of trafficking is recovered, the family is often in crisis mode. The family will be attending numerous appointments as well as experienceing the vicarious trauma of what has happened to their loved one. The children and families that Into the Light supports often move in and out of crisis quickly. During these times, a warm, homemade meal shows massive love, support, and care towards these trauma-torm fmailies. By participating in the ITL meal train you will be notified when there’s a need for a meal. If you have availability in your schedule, you can commit to providing one (or more) meal(s). An ITL staff member will then connect with you to receive the meal so they can deliver it to the victim/survivor. You will receive follow-up from the ITL staff on the reception of the meal.

Data entry is needed on a regular basis in the Mountain Home (NCA) Administrative office. Days and times can vary and are flexible after the initial training sessions. Volunteers are trained on the donor database and will be entering new donors, notes, acknowledgments, groups, and other important details regarding donors, volunteers, and organizations.
Phone calls can be done at the Mountain Home office initially and later in place by volunteers. This is on an as-needed basis and can be tied to events. Generally, less than an hour of phone calls would be requested at any one given time. Volunteers will always be provided with a script and training on how to interact with a live person on the phone while representing Into The Light. Examples of phone calls needed are: to thank donors, invite donors to participate in events or engagement opportunities, schedule meetings, request feedback from participants, and clarify information previously provided. Other types of phone calls may also be included.
Organizing is needed on an occasional basis in Mountain Home (NCA) and Springdale (NWA). This can include organizing office or closet spaces; donations of material goods: gifts, clothing, event materials, and decorative items. Volunteers would need to be willing to wash clothing at home and return it to the ITL office. Volunteers would also need to be comfortable making decisions about what to keep, donate, or throw away with general direction being provided by ITL staff.
Mailings are done at the Mountain Home office approximately ten months out of the year. Volunteers are contacted 1-2 weeks ahead of the day a mailing is going to be processed. Mailings generally begin at 9am and end before 1pm, depending on the type of mailing, quantity to be mailed, and number of mailing volunteers who attend. Volunteers stuff envelopes, sticker, fold, and count mailers. Volunteers are provided lunch and refreshments.
1-2 Head Mailing Volunteers are needed to supervise and direct volunteers at mailings as described above. These volunteers would be provided a small amount of compensation to purchase and bring the refreshments to each mailing. They would also be in charge of organizing work stations, filling out USPS forms, making copies for our Development Manager, and delivering the mailing and payment (check) to the post office. Additionally, they would be required to work with the Development Manager to ensure that all needed supplies for mailings are available when needed, counting supplies and communicating when items need to be ordered or printed. Supplies would include response envelopes, stickers, inserts, USPS forms, and mail sorting bins.

This information is particularly regarding activities, events and opportunities to get involved with Into The Light. Communication can include: word of mouth, forwarded emails, sharing ITL posts on personal social media, making announcements at church, posting newsletters on your church bulletin board, and passing out invitations, flyers, or literature when available.
Community Liaison Volunteers are needed to actively reach out to local organizations and offer Into The Light as a resource for learning more about human trafficking and ways that these local organizations can help. Community Liaisons must first be Church Liaisons for at least one year. Community Liaisons are specially trained, vetted, and equipped by Into The Light for this role. There are strict parameters for representing Into The Light in the community and a Community Liaison will never speak to the press. However they may do presentations in front of clubs, community groups, churches, etc. They must be friendly, comfortable with meeting new people, and enjoy public speaking. Additionally, they will grow into the role of doing presentations, manning information tables, and local community event booths.
